New Extensions Strands That Will Work Perfect   Dive into the different installations to be able to properly consult  The best quality hair strands for hair extensions are those that are 100% human strands, and with the cuticles intact. This type of hair is known as Remy, and it is considered to be the highest quality hair available for personalized hair care extensions. Remy hair is collected from a single donor and is carefully aligned to ensure that all the cuticles are facing the same direction. This makes the extensions look and feel more natural and helps prevent tangling and matting. In addition to Remy, some people also prefer virgin hair, which are strands that have never been chemically processed or colored. Virgin hair is also considered to be of high quality and can make for beautiful, long-lasting extensions. Your Clients Hair Type and Hair Care Beauty Routine. Hair extensions experience with 100 % real remy quality strands Bliss brand hair extensions are made from 100% human hair that has been carefully collected, processed, and prepared for hair extensions. Here's a general overview of the process: Hair Collection: Remy hair is typically collected from a single donor to ensure that the cuticles are all facing the same direction. This helps prevent tangling and matting. Sorting and Cleaning: The hair analysis is done in a lab. Sorted by length and texture and cleaned to remove any dirt, debris, or chemicals. The hair health is an important tool to understand the complete hair profile. The company wants to provide quality to the customer with a long frizz free base of healthy hair to work with.   Coloring (optional): If the hair is not already the desired color, it could be dyed to match the client's natural hair or desired style. It's important to note that high-quality Remy hair extensions are usually available in a range of natural shades, so dyeing is not always necessary. Wefting: The hair is then sewn onto a weft, which is a strip of fabric or mesh that holds the hair in place. The weft can be made of different materials, such as cotton or silk, and the hair can be sewn onto it by hand or machine. Styling: Once the hair has been wefted, it can be styled to create the desired look. This could involve cutting, curling, straightening, or adding layers to the extensions. Quality Control: Finally, the extensions undergo a rigorous quality control process to ensure that they are free from defects and meet the manufacturer's standards. This could involve checking for tangles, matting, or uneven lengths. It's important to note that the quality of extensions can vary widely depending on the manufacturer and the specific process. Some manufacturers could use harsh chemicals or low-quality materials to cut costs, which can result in lower-quality extensions that are more prone to tangling, matting, and breakage. To ensure the best quality, it's important to choose a reputable manufacturer that ensures high-quality materials and processes. Bliss brand extensions deliver consistent quality. Learn Today! Because the wefts are made by hand, they are thinner and more lightweight than machine-sewn wefts, which can make them blend more seamlessly with your client's natural hair. Customizable: Because hand-tied wefts are so thin, they are more customizable than machine-sewn wefts. This means that you can adjust the width and shape of the wefts to fit your client's specific head shape and hair type and get closer to part lines. Comfortable: The thin and lightweight nature of hand-tied wefts makes them more comfortable to wear than some other extensions. Long-lasting: Because the wefts are made from high-quality Remy hair, they can last for several months with proper care. Cons: Expensive: Remy hand-tied extensions are often more expensive than other extensions due to the time and skill required to make them. Installation time: Installing hand-tied wefts can take longer than other extensions such as tape-ins. Wefts are attached to the hair using a hand-sewn method, which can be time-consuming for some stylists over quicker methods. Maintenance: Hand-tied wefts require regular maintenance every few months to prevent tangling and matting of the natural hair.  Not suitable for all hair types: Hand-tied wefts might not be suitable for all hair types. They work best on hair that is fine to medium in texture and density. Thicker or coarser hair could require more wefts to achieve a natural look, which can add to the overall cost. Hand-tied extensions can be a great option for those looking for a natural-looking and customizable extension option. However, they may not be the best choice for those on a budget or with very thick or coarse hair. It is important to consult with your client to determine the best extensions for their lifestyle and hair type. Tape-in extensions are another popular hair extension product    Pros: Quick and easy installation: Tape-in extensions are relatively quick and easy to install, taking around 30-60 minutes to complete. This can be a great option for those with busy schedules or limited time for salon visits. Lightweight: Tape-in extensions are thin and lightweight, which can make them more comfortable to wear than other extensions. Natural look: Tape-in extensions are designed to look and feel like natural hair, and the adhesive tape can be hidden under layers of hair, making the extensions virtually undetectable. Easy maintenance: Tape-in extensions are relatively low maintenance and require less brushing and styling than some other extensions. Cons: Limited lifespan: Great for short term wear.  Tape-in extensions have a shorter lifespan than some other extensions, typically lasting 6-8 weeks before needing to be reinstalled. Not suitable for all hair types: Tape-in extensions might not be suitable for those with very fine or thin hair, as the adhesive tape can be visible or cause damage to the hair. Limited styling options: Because the adhesive tape is located close to the roots and dictates the direction of the hair, tape-in extensions might limit some styling options. Tape-in extensions can be a great option for those looking for a quick and easy installation process with a natural-looking result. However, they might not be the best choice for those with very fine or thin hair, or for those who want more versatility in their styling options. It is important to consult with your client to determine the best extensions for their lifestyle and hair type. Flex-tip extensions or nano bead extensions are great too   Pros: Natural look: Flex-tip extensions are designed to look and feel like natural hair. Because the extensions are attached using small metal rings, they can be placed close to the roots of the hair for a seamless blend. Customizable: Flex-tip extensions are highly customizable, with the option to adjust the placement to fit your client's specific head shape and hair type. Long-lasting: Flex-tip extensions can last for several months with proper care and maintenance. Low maintenance: Flex-tip extensions require minimal maintenance, with regular brushing and hair care products recommended to keep them looking their best. Use the shampoo and conditioner that's right for the extensions.  Cons: Installation time: Installing flex-tip extensions can be time-consuming, taking anywhere from 2-4 hours to complete. Potential for damage: If not installed or maintained properly, flex-tip extensions can pull on finer strands.  Be sure to use proper technique.  Check out our free course to make sure you are doing them correctly. Limited styling options: Because the metal rings are located close to the roots of the hair, flex-tip extensions could limit some styling options, such as high ponytails or updos. Flex-tip extensions can be a great option for those looking for an undetectable, customizable and natural-looking extension option. However, they may not be the best choice for those who want a quicker installation process. It is important to consult with your client to determine the best extensions for their lifestyle and to ensure that they are installed and maintained properly.

HAIR TONER: Everything You Need To Know About Hair Toner and Hair Extensions!
HAIR TONER: Everything You Need To Know About Hair Toner and Hair Extensions!
Everything you need to know about hair toner   The many different types of hair toner  Hair toner is a product that works by depositing color onto the natural or color-treated hair to neutralize or enhance certain tones. Toner is used after the client has lightened their hair, whether through highlights or full colored hair, as it helps to correct any unwanted brassy or yellow tones that can occur during the lightening process.  ALL lightening processes work by lifting natural human hair through a predictable pattern - black, brown, red-brown, red-orange, orange, gold, yellow, and finally pale yellow.  If you have added color to your hair, this can add strange colors into this mix, but generally they stay within this strange red-brown to yellow range. How hair toner works / How to use hair toner Toner works by using a complementary (but opposing) color to cancel out any unwanted tones.  When you look at a color wheel, you will be looking for the color directly across.   For example, you use hair color toner like purple to cancel out yellow tones in bleached hair or blonde hair, while blue toner can be used in brown hair to remove orange tones.  Think about a toner like a translucent gel.  You are just adding enough see through color to balance out the original tone.  When you combine purple and yellow - they neutralize to brown.  When you combine blue and orange - they neutralize to brown.  Neat, right?  The stronger the toner color (deeper, richer, less see through) the more it moves to the opposite side of the color wheel.  The more see-through the toner color, the less it moves across to the other side.  You've probably seen the effects of leaving purple shampoo on bleached hair too long - instead of just canceling the yellows, it actually leaves little purple bits because it moved across too far to the other side of the color wheel.  If it had been mixed down with a bit of regular shampoo, it would have been more translucent and would not have moved as much across the color wheel.   To use a hair toner, mix to directions and leave the toner on the hair for a specific amount of time (usually between 15 and 30 minutes.  The color will penetrate the client's hair strands and neutralize or enhance the desired tones. Wash the product from your client's hair with color safe conditioner and blow out to complete the process.  The more porous the hair, the more the color will be sucked into the strands.  When in doubt, thin it out. :) How to use a hair toner to make toner last Hair toner comes in various consistencies, such as a liquid or cream, and can be used on hair in your salon to make your clients' hair dazzle. It's important to note that salon hair toner is more pigmented that at-home hair toners. Manufacturers do this intentionally so that there are less at-home styling "accidents" from untrained users.  Stylists are trusted to know their products better and feel out the hair fabric they are working with to gauge if it needs to be thinned out to create the right amount of pigmentation. It is important to choose the right color of toner and also the right consistency for your client's hair type and desired outcome, as using the wrong toner can result in unwanted color changes. Overall, hair toner is a great way to achieve the color you are after. Removing brassy tones on your client using extensions Tone your client's hair without dye or bleach, instead use extensions! Did you realize you could change your color by adding hair extensions to your natural hair?  If your natural hair's top layers taper a bit, you can add extensions that are up to three levels apart and completely change the color of your style! Bliss Hair extensions aren't just a great option for adding length, volume - we can also use them to add tone and color to your clients' hair. When it comes to toning with extensions, there are a few key things to keep in mind: First, it's important to select the right type of extensions for the job. There are many different types of extensions available, including clip-ins, tape-ins, flex-tip, and sew-ins. Each type has its own pros and cons, so it's important to consider the client's hair type, lifestyle, and budget when making your selection. Once you've selected the right type (style) of hair extensions, it's time to choose the color tone. If you're using extensions to add volume or length, you'll want to match the color as closely as possible to the ends of client's natural hair. However, if you're using extensions to add highlights or lowlights, you'll need to choose a color that complements the client's existing coloured hair. When selecting a color for toning, consider the client's skin tone and eye color. Warm-toned skin looks best with warm-toned hair colors, such as golden blondes, caramel browns, and auburns. Cool-toned skin looks best with cool-toned hair colors, such as ash blondes, platinum blondes, and cool browns. Another factor to consider is the placement of the extensions. If you're adding highlights or lowlights, you'll want to place the extensions strategically to create the desired effect. For example, if you're adding highlights, you'll want to place the extensions around the face and on the crown of the head to create a natural, sun-kissed look. If you're adding lowlights, you'll want to place the extensions underneath the top layers of hair to create depth and dimension. Use toner to add pizazz that a professional hair stylist can recommend When it comes to toning with hair extensions, check the texture of the extensions to your client's hair. If you're using synthetic extensions (which we do not recommend), you'll need to use a special hair dye that is designed for synthetic hair (this is more of a stain - and you'll want to alter the hair BEFORE you install it. If you're using human hair extensions (like Bliss), you can use professional hair color, but you'll need to be careful not to damage the extensions.  Always, always, always do a test strand before you commit! To apply hair dye to extensions, start by washing the extensions with a clarifying shampoo to help make sure the hair is free from any product buildup. Then, mix the hair dye according to the manufacturer's instructions and apply it to the extensions using a tint brush. Make sure to saturate the hair evenly and if you are using extensions with keratin or adhesive bonding, avoid getting the dye on these parts as it may alter their ability to hold. After you use a color toner, let it sit for the recommended amount of time (generally no longer than 45 minutes max), then rinse the extensions thoroughly with cool water. Follow up with a color-safe conditioner to help lock in the color so toner can last and keep the extensions looking healthy and add shine to the hair. How long does toner last? Extensions are the best "hair toners!"   If you are using extensions for toning, the results will be indefinite.  If you are using a dyed color, it will gradually fade over the next 2 to 3 weeks.  Toning with hair extensions can mean less coloring, and therefore less damage to delicate natural strands.  If you choose to work with color, expect to refresh with a colored shampoo to maintain the tone and keep away the color of the underlying pigments.  Toning is just helping to mask the natural color. Hair extensions can be a great tool for toning the hair, whether you're adding highlights, lowlights, or a whole new color and hair tones. As a stylist, it's important to select the right type of extensions, choose a color that complements the client's skin tone and eye color, and place the extensions strategically to create the desired effect. By following these tips and using the right techniques, you can help your clients achieve their dream hair color with the help of extensions. Clients can use hair at home to maintain hair color and hair care Clients don't need to use hair toner, bleach, or dyed hair at home to keep hair looking great. Using hair extensions to "tone" without coloring any hair is a great way to achieve a new look without committing to a permanent color change. Clip-in extensions can help make your hair appear accented while keeping your original hair it's natural color.   Here are a few steps to follow to achieve a toned look using hair extensions:  Choose the right color: The first step is to choose the right color of hair extensions that will match the tone of the hair. There are a variety of shades available (especially blondes since they range from warm to cool!), so take your time to find the perfect match. Select the right type of extension: There are several types of extensions available, such as clip-ins, tape-ins, Flex-tip, and sew-ins. For at home toning, clip-in extensions work best as they are easy to attach and remove. Section your hair: Section off a portion of hair where you want to add the extensions. This could be the crown of their head, the sides, or the back, depending on the look you are going for. Prep your extensions: Brush them out and make sure they are tangle-free. If they are not the same length as your hair, trim them to the desired length. Install the extensions:  Clip, clip, clip!  Use the appropriate installation method for the type of extensions your client has chosen. Layer the extensions: Working in layers from the nape, install the extensions row by row.  Continue to layer the extensions, working your way up to the top of your head. Be sure to blend the extensions with the natural hair as you go, so they look seamless when you have finished. Style your hair: Once you have all the extensions in place, style the hair as desired. You can use a curling iron, straightener, or other styling tools to create the perfect look. Use toning products: To enhance the toning effect, you can use toning products such as toning shampoos or conditioners to keep the extensions looking their best. By following these steps, you can easily achieve a toned look using hair extensions without coloring any of the natural hair. This is a great way to experiment and add dimension to hair color without the commitment of permanent hair dye, and it can be a fun way to change up your client's look for a special occasion or just for a change of pace. The Best Dirty Blonde Hair Color Ideas    Explaining dirty blonde hair color ideas  The term "dirty blonde" or "dishwater blonde hair" originated in the early 20th century and was used to describe women with darker blonde hair that had been lightened by exposure to the sun and  other environmental factors. Over time, the term has evolved to describe a hair color that is intentionally created by hair stylists using various coloring techniques. One of the reasons dirty blonde hair has become so popular is that it is a low-maintenance hair care color. Unlike other hair colors that require frequent touch-ups to maintain their vibrancy, dirty blonde hair dye can grow out without looking unkempt or messy. This makes it an ideal choice for women who don't have the time or resources to devote to regular hair appointments. Another reason for the popularity of dirty blonde hair is its versatility. This hair color looks great on a wide range of skin tones and can be customized to suit individual preferences. For example, some women may prefer a warmer, honey blonde, while others may opt for a cooler, cool blonde.  You can work with your clients to create a dirty blonde color that will make their hair complement their skin tone, eye color, and overall aesthetic. The Best Hair Extension Methods for Thin Hair and DIY Self-Installs
Hair Extension Methods:The Pros And Cons Of Every Kind, From Clip-Ins To Wigs Skip to the end for our definitive Quick Guide! What Are Hair Extensions vs Pieces or Wigs? Hair extensions are pieces of hair that attach UNDER your natural hair - so in essence, they need your crown hair to cover the attachments.  Hair pieces and wigs are different - in that they hide the top part of your natural hair.  Hair pieces and hair extensions can be worn simultaneously to avoid the dreaded "wig look."  We are often asked "What are the best types of hair extensions?" or "What are the best types of hair extensions available?" - the answers may surprise you!  But first, let's start with systems that you shouldn't use. What are legacy hair extension systems? Not all hair extension methods are created equal.  There are SO MANY different ways to attach these tiny pieces of hair, it can make your head spin.  Legacy systems are simply systems that have become outdated - replaced by modern methods which are gentler on natural hair and easier to conceal.   Most modern systems have gotten away from extensions attached to braids (because the tension is hard to adjust and will be bulky and uncomfortable).  Most have also gotten away from using glues as well.  Bonding is a cold glue and removing it was like removing sticky boogs from your hair...  It was awful.  Fusion extensions were put in with hot glue - some systems (like we used to carry) could be crushed up at the end of their life and comb out, whereas others needed to be heated back up and pulled (you tried to slide it down, but... well... it was a painful and awful process that took forever). Modern systems tend to rely on systems that go in quickly, create a secure hold and are easy on delicate strands to remove.  The system you choose should depend on your client's goals, their pocketbook and how much time they want to invest.  (Time and money tend to go hand-in-hand... more on that shortly.) What you should know about hair extensions...   How long do hair extensions last? Your hair may or may not outlast your installation.  The installation for hair extensions can last anywhere from an evening to 3 months (and that is pushing it).  Any company that tells you that you can leave an install longer than 3 months is not worth giving your hard earned money to because that simply is not true.  Extensions are attached at the root.  As your hair grows out - so do your extensions.  Imagine if you put tiny barrettes all over your hair and then left them for three months.  At that time, they would be hanging about 1.5 to 2 inches down.  Under them would be impossible to brush and they would likely be getting tangled on themselves.  Not to mention styling becomes a huge problem and they are going to be fairly visible.   Installations that do last the longest are strand-by-strand hair extensions, rather than panels.  We will go into more details about each. Do extensions damage your real hair? In short, NO.  Hair extensions can't damage your natural hair.  In fact, they may even help protect your natural hair.  The real reason behind any hair breakage and loss is either due to improper installation OR improper removal - all of which can be avoided with proper training.  Your training should tell you what to do, but also... drumroll, please... what NOT to do. Installations that are too tight (especially in systems where tension is hard to adjust easily - I'm looking at you, braided sew-ins!) or are installed with too much weight in one place can cause the hair to be pulled out.  You'll know that this is happening because you will see clusters of hair with little white tips.  You may also see tension bumps - which can look like an allergic reaction.  Tension bumps may not appear all over.  It is most commonly seen at the hairline and the nape - where most of the scalp pulling happens.  If this happens, your extensions need to be installed more loosely.  Have them removed, wait a few days for your scalp to calm down and try again with greater attention to detail. Removals that go wrong... waiting too long can cause issues with the natural hair tangling and matting at the base.  Make sure that they are removed on time.  Even if you remove them on time, legacy systems can be difficult to remove.  Fusion (strand-by-strand with hot glue) removal can pull on small sections of your hair.  Any hair extension method where small sections are used need to be removed carefully without pulling on fine, delicate strands.  Any system that creates a sticky mess should be avoided.  You might be surprised to know that our tapes and removers don't create any of the sticky mess or residue and are not prone to these issues - more on that below. Can you wash your hair with hair extensions?   Yes, you can shampoo your hair.  While it may not be best to wash hair daily from root to tip, you do want to make sure that your extensions stay clean to keep them looking their best.  When you don't wash your hair or excessively sweat, this can cause a build up of oils on the strands.  This will cause the strands to grip to each other and tangle.  Clients who are unfamiliar with how build up might feel (because they haven't had long hair before), may think their hair extensions are dry and make the issue worse by using excessive conditioner.  This causes even more build up.  This is an easy mistake to make - especially when you are new to hair extensions are are unsure how they should behave.  Make sure the training that you choose goes over how the hair should react and behave under different circumstances so you can troubleshoot quickly.  You can learn from us, here for free. What are the cheapest hair extensions?  Are they real human hair?  Yes, most are.  But be cautious about inexpensive human hair.  It may be natural looking hair in the package, but wearing cheap extension hair may be a different story.  Hair that isn't cut off as a ponytail will have a mixed cuticle direction.  To combat tangling, this hair is bathed in an acid bath to remove the cuticle.  This makes thicker hair and coarse hair strands into finer, more desirable hair textures, but leaves them with no protection.  To mimic the sheen of the cuticle, they then will add silicone sprays.  This will cause hair to self-destruct about a week after you install it. What if hair used was cheap? Cheap hair has a time and place.  You might be able to get away with it for an event that only lasts a couple days, but after that, it will become very difficult to maintain.  It may be a mix of different hair textures too - which will become noticeable after washing. If you are working with clients, be sure to go with a brand that is reputable, like Bliss.  We have been working with our stylists for over two decades.  Our business is built on your successful business.   The Best Hair Extension Method For Fine Or Thinning Hair... Will Extensions Damage Fine Hair? Not if they are installed and removed properly.  In fact, they can even help protect delicate strands.   The best hair extensions for thin hair What are the best hair extensions for thin hair?  The hair extensions that are recommended for fine hair are Flex-Tip Nanos.  These combine a tiny bead that slides onto the natural hair and a tiny tip that sticks out of the hair strand.  Because the tip is sticking out of the bond, the bead doesn't need to fit around the entire hair extension strand.  This means that the bonds can be teeny tiny!  If you're looking for the best method for those suffering with hair loss, you've found it. The best bonds are attached close to the scalp and are secured by crimping the bead with the natural hair inside.  These extensions are best for thin hair or discerning hair clients.  They are the most natural hair extensions because they hide very well at the root of the hair.  These hair extensions are also safe for your hair!  The base for the extensions simply crimp in and then crimp out.  This makes them great to reuse again and again.  You can learn this method here for free!   These extensions can also work well with a hair topper if one is needed for coverage or if a client would like to try bangs but doesn't want to commit.  If your clients have thin hair and are looking for the most discrete solution, this set of products is the way to go. The Best Method for Most Clients Can you get a sew-in with thin hair? Solid maybe.  Flex-Tip Nanos are definitely the best extensions for thin hair.  Sew-ins can be an extension option for thin hair but only if the user can wear extensions placed lower on their head.  Recall that hair extensions are best when you have ample coverage for the attachment points. The best hair extension method for most clients Most clients will benefit from a beaded/hand tied weft method.  A beaded extension is usually the best type because tension can be adjusted at the individual bead.  When hair is braided to create the base row, it has a "fixed tension" and generally needs to grow out to release any pressure.  Contrary to common belief, you cannot pull the hair and make it grow.  You are just going to break it. Extensions are secured by sewing them to the base. Not all beaded methods are awesome.  The right type of beaded row won't leave gaps between the beads.  Gaps between the beads allows the weft of hair to slide up and down over the natural hair.  This can cause matting and dreading under the wefts.  These types of methods are also prone to slippage as they do not anchor to one another to reinforce the row. What you NEED to know about hair extensions In our hand tied method, we create a row that feels similar to braiding the natural hair.  These are not prone to cause damage to the hair as other improperly fitted beaded methods.  A properly installed row will attach to your natural hair in a way that allows all of the hair to stay on one side of the weft, not bunch up underneath, and will allow your natural strands to be brushed.  They can also stay in the hair up to two months.  Be wary of expensive gappy systems - and if you are currently using one of these methods, consider switching to our method.  We will even teach you for free! Another reason why beaded sew-in extensions are best for most clients is that the type of hair extension used are easily reusable.  There are no glues - reinstallation can be immediate. This only works if the hair used is a high quality extension, so make sure the hair you buy can last.  Always buy from a trusted vendor.  Hair extensions are big money so other companies can talk a mean game, but can't back it up.  We recommend our Bliss hand tied extensions because we have found it is the best type of hair for those that want to wear extensions without breaks.  It can hold up to excessive styling and its user friendly.  You won't need to know about hair care in painstaking detail to have a good experience.  Lower quality hair can last a long time, but it will take MUCH more effort to keep it soft and tangle free. Best for Clients that Have Never Had Extensions? Tape In Hair Extensions are Great For People's First Time Tape-in extensions are great for people who have never had hair extensions before and want extensions for a short time.  They are the fastest method to install, and with a little work can be reused.  This makes tape-in extensions the best method for those looking to have extensions for a specific event - like a wedding or prom. First the natural hair is shampooed and dried.  Clean, dry hair is key to getting them to adhere properly to the hair.  A thin slice of the natural hair is lifted and one tab is placed underneath at the root.  Next, a piece is placed on top.  The hair attached is like a sandwich the the natural strands of hair in the middle.  Tape-in hair extensions are great for most hair types.  This type of extension can be placed close to part lines (closer than wefts) which can help to make your hair easier to style - even with thick hair. Tape in hair extensions are perfect for clients that want to try extensions but aren't ready to commit to a hand tied beaded row hair extension style or individual strands like Flex-Tip Nanos. What Hair Extension Method Is Best For Me? Can I DIY my hair extensions? If you are self-installing there are two methods that stand above the rest.  Tape-in hair extensions, if you would like something to last longer than one or two days and clip-in hair extensions, if you need them for an evening.  Both have free self-installation courses which can be found here. Clip-In Hair Extensions Clip-in extensions make it easy to style your hair.  They can be clipped in and out quickly.  When getting your extensions, make sure you go with a brand you trust.  Whether its clip in hair extensions or tape-ins, we recommend Bliss for several reasons.  With Bliss, you can trust the quality.  We have been in business for over two decades and we stand on our reputation.  We have seen other sellers pop up, sell for a bit then appear to close their doors - but they just change their name!  Be careful.  Cheap extensions are usually mis-labeled and sold to unsuspecting buyers.   You can find a guide to hair extension quality here.  In addition, with Bliss brand, you can purchase more than you need and return what you don't use (just keep it packaged).  This means that your appointment will never fall short and you won't be stuck with extra product you can't use. And stylists: its not just about saving money - you'll want to DIY hair extensions for your hair too!   This is THE BEST form of advertising! Which Method Should I Choose? Hair extensions are the best way to create your style confidence quickly.  Why wait when hair only grows on average of 6 inches per year?  You could be waiting for years for your best styles!  There are many different hair extensions available so it can be difficult to know which to choose.   Best type of hair extension options...(Quick Guide) We breakdown different types of hair installations by looking at the following: Is this a client installation or a self-installation? CLIENT INSTALLATIONS: If client, does the client need a solution for fine or thin hair?  If yes, flex-tip nanos.    If client, does the client need an inexpensive entry level solution?  If yes, tape-ins.    Every other client, hand tied beaded rows.    SELF-INSTALLATION DIY METHODS: If self, do you want something that lasts longer than 2-3 days at a time?  If yes, tape-ins.    If just 1-3 days, clip-ins.

Style Thin Hair: Using Extensions for Fine Haired Clients
Style Thin Hair: Using Extensions for Fine Haired Clients
Thin Hair and Fine Hair Can Be a Challenge    Volumizing thin hair takes more than body building shampoo and a good haircut and style.  Fine hair can be a challenge for many hairdressers, as it can be delicate, easily damaged, and may require special techniques and products to keep it looking healthy and full. In this article, we will explore some of the key things that you should know about fine hair, including its unique characteristics, common styling and cutting techniques, and tips for keeping fine hair looking its best. Find out how you can make hair look fabulous First, it's important to understand the unique characteristics of fine hair. Finer hair is typically thinner in diameter than other hair types, which can make it appear limp or flat. It also tends to be more delicate and prone to breakage, so it requires gentle handling and special care. Additionally, fine strands may be more susceptible to damage from heat styling tools, chemical treatments, and environmental factors like sun exposure and pollution. When it comes to styling thin hair, there are a few key techniques that hairdressers should keep in mind. One important technique is to avoid using heavy or oily products that can weigh your hair down and make it appear greasy or limp. Fine hair needs lightweight products like mousses, sprays, or serums that can add volume and texture without weighing down the hair. Another important styling technique is to use a round brush to lift your hair when blow-drying fine hair, as this can help create volume and body. Finally, you should avoid using high heat on your clients when styling thin hair, as this can cause damage and breakage. Instead, use low to medium heat settings and always use a heat protectant spray before applying heat. In terms of cutting fine hair, there are a few key techniques that can help create the illusion of fuller, thicker hair. One technique is to incorporate layers into the haircut, as this can add movement and texture to fine hair. However, it's important to avoid over-layering the hair, as this can make it appear even thinner and more limp. Another important cutting technique is to avoid using blunt cuts or heavy lines, as these can weigh down thin hair and make it appear flat. Instead, opt for softer, more textured cuts that can add volume and dimension to the hair. Hair Care for Fine Hair Finally, when it comes to keeping fine hair looking its best, there are a few key tips that you should share with your clients. One important tip is to avoid washing fine hair too frequently, as this can strip the hair of its natural oils and make it appear dry and brittle. Instead, recommend that clients wash their hair every other day or every few days, and use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo formulated for fine hair that won't dry out the hair. Another important tip is to avoid brushing or combing wet hair, as this can cause breakage and damage. Instead, recommend that clients use a wide-tooth comb or detangling brush to gently work out any knots or tangles. Fine hair can be a challenge, but with the right techniques and products, it's possible to create beautiful, voluminous styles that showcase the unique characteristics of this hair type. By understanding the unique characteristics of fine hair, using the right styling and cutting techniques, and sharing key tips with clients, you can help your clients look and feel their best, no matter what their hair type may be. Add Hair Extensions for Fine and Thin Hair Best Hairstyles   Best hairstyles for fine and thin hair Hand-tied hair extensions can be a great option for fine or thin hair clients who are looking to add volume, length, or fullness to their hair. As a hairdresser, it's important to understand the different types of hair extensions available, as well as how to properly install and maintain them for your clients. In this article, we will explore some of the ways that you can use hair extensions to enhance the look of thin hair. One of the most popular types of hair extensions is clip-in extensions. Clip-in extensions are easy to install and remove, making them a great choice for clients who want to add temporary volume or length to their hair for a special occasion or event. To install clip-in extensions, start by sectioning off the hair and backcombing the roots to create a secure base for the clips. Then, clip the extensions onto the roots, working from the bottom up, and blend the natural hair with the extensions using a brush or comb. Another type of hair extensions that you can use for clients with thin hair is tape-in extensions. Tape-in extensions are semi-permanent and can last for several weeks to several months, depending on how well they are maintained. To install tape-in extensions, start by sectioning off the hair and applying the tape-in extensions to the roots using a special adhesive. Then, blend the natural hair with the extensions using a brush or comb, and style as desired. Another option for clients with thin hair is flex-tip extensions. Nano bead extensions are applied by threading small beads onto the natural hair and then securing the flex-tip extensions to the beads using a special tool. Micro bead extensions are a good choice for clients who want a longer-lasting solution than clip-in extensions but don't want to commit to the semi-permanent nature of tape-in extensions. When working with clients with thin hair, it's important to choose the right type of hair extensions for their specific needs. You should also take care to install the extensions properly, as incorrect installation can damage the natural hair and make the problem worse. Additionally, it's important to educate clients on how to properly care for their hair extensions to ensure they last as long as possible. LEARN FROM A PROFESSIONAL! Everything You Need to Know About Hair Toner and Extensions
Everything You Need to Know About Hair Toner and Extensions
Everything You Need To Know About Hair Toner  Use hair toner to tone your hair   Different types of hair toner You can control hair color with toner by using it to adjust the tone or hue of the hair. Hair toner is a product, semi-permanent hair color or toning shampoo, that is used to neutralize or enhance certain tones in the hair. It is typically used after the hair has been lightened or bleached, as it can help to counteract any unwanted brassy tones or yellow tones in your hair.  To use toner, typically mix it with developer and apply it to the hair. The amount of time the toner is left on the hair will depend on the desired result and the starting level of the hair. Toners come in a variety of shades, from cool ash tones to warm golden tones, and can be mixed together to create a custom shade. Toner for blonde hair, dyed hair, or orange hair By using  color toner, you can control the color of the hair and achieve the desired result. It is important to note that toner is not a permanent hair color and will gradually fade over time, so to refresh your hair is necessary to keep the desired tone. Avoid Brassy Tones and More You can even use a toner with hair extensions Here are a few examples: Correcting unwanted undertones:  If the hair extensions have become brassy or orange-toned, to get rid of brassy orange hair, a toner can be used to neutralize the tone of your client's hair by getting rid of unwanted tones and restore a more natural-looking color. The right toner should be selected based on the underlying pigment of the hair and the desired end result. Blending natural hair with extensions: If the client's natural hair color is significantly different from the hair extensions, a toner can be used to alter the color blending the two seamlessly. This is especially important if the extensions are a different shade than the natural dimension to hair color. Creating a custom shade: If the client wants a specific shade that can't be achieved with pre-made extensions, toner is an essential. The stylist can use a toner to customize the color. This is a great option for clients who want a unique look that's tailored to their preferences. Some popular custom shades colorists use include pastel hair, orange tones, rose gold, light brown, light blonde, and ashy blonde. Toners should be used using color theory for best results.  Refreshing color: Over time, hair extensions can fade or lose their luster. A toner can be used on hair at home to refresh the color and restore the vibrancy of the hair. Purple shampoo and conditioner hair care is commonly used to control brassiness on lighten hair. Tinted shampoos is a type of hair toner you use to wash your hair with to tone at home. This will make your existing color better by removing yellow or orange tones. Tinted shampoos and conditioners contain little pigment so these toners can also be used every three to four weeks on extensions and weekly on your real hair to tone color.  Adding dimension: Toner can be used to add depth and dimension to hair extensions, especially if they are a single color. This is achieved by using a toner with different shades and undertones to create a multi-dimensional look. It's important to note that not all hair extensions are compatible with toner, so it's important to consult with the manufacturer or supplier before applying any color treatment.  Use hair extensions to blend color and tone  Here are some common techniques: Color-matching: If a client wants to add length and volume to their hair, but their natural hair color doesn't match the desired extension color, you may use extensions that are a different color or tone. To make the color match seamless, you will use a coloring technique to blend the two colors together. This can include using a toner, color gloss, or other coloring products to blend the colors and make the transition between the natural hair and extensions look natural. Balayage: Balayage is a highlighting technique that involves painting color onto the hair in a freehand style. This technique can also be used with extensions to create a seamless blend of color and tone. You will paint the color onto the extensions in the same way they would on natural hair, creating a natural-looking blend that seamlessly transitions between the two. Ombre: Ombre is a coloring technique that involves gradually transitioning from one color to another. This can be done with extensions to create a gradual blend between the natural hair color and the extension color. You will use a color that gradually fades from the natural hair color to the extension color, creating a smooth transition that looks natural. Highlights and Lowlights: Another technique is to use highlights and lowlights to blend the colors of the natural hair and extensions. You can use foil or other techniques to apply highlights or lowlights to the extensions, creating a more natural and seamless blend. Tape-in extensions and hand-tied weft extensions are popular choices for achieving seamless color blending and toning. Tape-in extensions: are thin, flat wefts that are attached to the natural hair using double-sided tape. They are known for their flexibility, which allows them to move and blend naturally with the natural hair. When applied correctly, tape-in extensions can achieve a seamless color blend and tone with the natural hair.   Hand-tied weft extensions: are made by hand, creating a thinner and more flexible weft. The weft is then attached to the natural hair using a beaded sew-in method. Hand-tied wefts are known for their natural movement and blending ability, which can help achieve a seamless color blend and tone with the natural hair.   LEARN HOW TO PROFESSIONALLY INSTALL BOTH HAND-TIED AND TAPE-INS HERE!  It's important to note that selecting the right color and texture of extensions that match your client's natural hair is crucial for achieving a seamless blend and tone.  Use Toner and Extensions In summary, you can use various techniques in-salon to blend the color and tone of extensions with natural hair. Everything You Need to Know About Split Ends Types of split ends and using hair extensions to conceal split ends   Beyond what could cause split ends Split ends, also known as trichoptilosis (trick-cop-til-osis), occurs when the protective outer layer of hair is damaged and the hair splits into two or more strands at the end of your hair. This can cause the hair to look dull and lifeless, and can lead to further breakage if not addressed. Split ends can occur for a variety of reasons, including environmental factors, styling practices, and poor nutrition. In this article, we will explore the causes, kinds, and a way to get rid of them. Split Ends Hair: Environmental Factors: Environmental factors such as exposure to sun, wind, and pollution can damage the hair and cause split ends. These elements can strip the hair of its natural oils, making it dry and brittle. Over time, this can cause the hair to split and break making the ends look like feathers. Style: Styling practices such as using hot tools, tight hairstyles, and chemical treatments can also cause split ends. Lack of brushing (and subsequent tangling) or rough brushing wet hair. Hot tools such as flat irons and curling irons can dry out the hair, making it more prone to splitting. Tight hairstyles such as braids, buns, and ponytails can put stress on the hair, causing it to break. Chemical treatments such as hair coloring, perming, and relaxing can weaken the hair, leading to split ends too. What could cause split ends Poor Nutrition: Poor nutrition can also contribute to split ends. A lack of vitamins and minerals, such as iron and biotin, can weaken the hair and make it more prone to splitting. Eating a healthy diet that includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, and protein can help prevent split ends.  Different kinds of splits There are several different kinds of split ends, each of which is caused by different factors on the hair shaft. Classic Split Ends: Classic split ends occur when the hair splits into two or more strands at the end and travel up the rest of your client's hair. These are the most common type of split ends and are usually caused by environmental factors and styling practices. Baby Hairs: Baby hairs are small, fine hairs that grow along the hairline. When these hairs become damaged, they can split at the end, causing a frizzy, unkempt appearance. Tree Branch Split Ends:  Tree branch split ends occur when the hair splits into several strands, similar to the branches of a tree. This type of split end is usually caused by severe damage, such as from chemical treatments or excessive heat styling. How to prevent split end There are several ways to reduce hair breakage and damage to your client's hair. Lets get onto split ends and what causes hair to break. Proper hair care may help prevent tangles and breakage development of split ends, including: Trimming: Regular trims or a haircut can help prevent split ends by removing damaged hair before it has a chance to split further. Recommend that your clients get a trim every six to eight weeks. If you do not trim your client's hair every 6-8 weeks they are susceptible to split ends in the future. Protective Styling: Protective styling involves wearing hairstyles that protect your client's hair and minimize stress on the hair as you style the hair. This includes braids, twists, and buns. These styles can help protect the hair from environmental factors and excessive manipulation. Using Heat Protectant Hair Products:  Using a heat protectant spray or serum can help protect the hair from damage caused by heat styling. These products can create a barrier between the hair and the heat, preventing it from becoming dry and brittle. Avoiding Tight Hairstyles: Avoiding tight hairstyles can help prevent split ends by reducing stress on the hair and prevent further splitting. Have your clients opt for loose hairstyles that do not pull on the hair, such as a messy bun or loose ponytail. Using the Right Hair Products: Using the right hair products can also help keep your hair free of split ends. Look for products that are specifically designed for your client's hair type and avoid products that contain harsh chemicals or alcohol. Conclusion: split ends are a common hair health problem that can be caused by a variety of factors. Environmental factors, styling practices, and poor nutrition can all contribute to split ends. There are several different kinds of split ends, each of which is caused by different factors. To prevent split ends, it is important to get regular trims, use a microfiber towel, use a leave-in conditioner, wrap your hair, brush your hair frequently, wash your hair gently , use metal free hair ties, take care of scalp and hair, and cut your client's hair to keep hair healthy.  How to Get Rid of Split Ends Hair extensions can be a great way to blend split ends   Blend extensions with a client's natural hair gently and address damaged ends When using hair extensions to blend split ends, it is important to select extensions that closely match the client's natural hair color and texture. This will help ensure that the extensions blend seamlessly and look natural. It is also important to properly care for the extensions to prevent further damage to the client's natural hair. This may include using a gentle shampoo and conditioner, avoiding excessive heat styling, and getting regular maintenance appointments to ensure that the extensions are properly maintained and do not cause damage to the client's natural hair. Hair extensions can be a great way to blend split ends and improve the appearance of a client's hair. With the right techniques and proper care, you can use extensions to create a seamless and natural-looking result that enhances the client's natural beauty. Here are some of the best extension installation techniques for a hairdresser to recommend: Clip-In Extensions: Clip-in extensions are a great option for blending split ends because they are easy to use and can be removed and reattached as needed. Clip-in extensions can be worn with or without a topper and are available in a variety of lengths and textures, making it easy for you to find a match for your client's natural hair.   Tape-In Extensions: Tape-in extensions are a great option for blending split ends because they lie flat against the head and can be easily customized to match the client's natural hair color and texture. Tape-in extensions can also be placed strategically to cover split ends and create a fuller look.   These extensions are applied by sandwiching a small section of the client's natural hair between two pieces of adhesive tape, with the extension hair attached to the top tape. You can then use a razor or scissors to carefully blend the client's natural hair with the extension hair, creating a seamless and natural-looking result. This technique can be particularly effective for blending in split ends and creating a fuller, more voluminous look.   LEARN HOW TO INSTALL  TAPE-IN EXTENSIONS HERE   Flex Tip Extensions: Nano extensions involve attaching small metal beads or rings to the client's natural hair and threading the extension hair through them.
